We are living in a world where everybody wants to look beautiful. Who does not like getting compliments or being praised? Some people look at the physical beauty and some at the internal beauty. But in today’s world who focuses on internal beauty? Behind beauty, there is make-up and cosmetics that are used to enhance ourselves and makes us appears more confident.
People use make-up as a weapon to protect themselves. It is a mask that helps a person to hide all his insecurities and able to face the world better. Many people suffer from acne, scars and dark spots and through make up, they are able to cover it by using foundation.

Do you think it’s a good thing? Why not? I think it’s not a crime to do so. There are so many people who judge you just by looking at your appearance when you are walking down the street or for a job interview. Appearance matters nowadays, the way you look, dress and your body size.
Make-up form part of a woman's femininity where a person has control over their looks. It brings body positivism which lead for a better life. Studies have proved that women wearing make-up are more attractive, more confident and the likelihood to be hired is higher (Bell 2013).
Make-up is an art which brings up huge transformation about yourself. Nowadays, there has been an increase in acid attack according to the BBC news (Rannard 2017). Many people are being victim of acid attacks and suffered severe burns on their face and body and their face got disfigured.

So, do you think it’s easy for these victims to face the society where people will stare at and judge them? Don’t they have the right to live a normal life again? Indeed, they do have the right and make-up can be the solution.
Here is a picture of a victim of an acid attack, Resham Khan who was attacked on her 21st birthday, suffered severe burns on her face in June 2017. It was not easy for her but she believed that wearing make-up would make her feel better and beautiful.

Make-up did a great thing for her, she put on some foundation to cover the blemish and using cosmetics product like nude lipstick, powder, blush, done her eyebrows and put fake eyelashes to make her look beautiful again. She posted her pictures on social media and even got compliments for her beauty (Rannard 2017).
So, do you think make-up is worth it? I think it’s a yes. Everyone has the right to look beautiful and do whatever they want. No one has the right to judge you. Believe in yourself. Don’t let anyone make you feel insecure about yourself.
